- Growing up in Maine's beautiful Rangeley Lake area I was surrounded by the beauty of the mountains, lakes and wildlife. As long as I can remember art has been a part of my life. Inspired by my extraordinarily creative mother my passion for art began at a very young age. The state of Maine provides me with rich subject matter. Some of my favorite subjects to paint are the lakes and mountains of Rangeley, the seacoast with its quaint fishing villages and colorful cottages and flower gardens that are scattered throughout the region. My primary artistic goal is to express a feeling of light and color in my work. I am very much influenced by the Impressionists style of painting. I attended Portland School of Art now Maine College of Art and most recently have studied for several years with Jan Kilburn of Damariscotta.

I love the mood of this piece...it feels like I've stumbled upon an old barn in the woods, a treasure of life passed by, and it's very intriguing. Very nice palette!
